The Hastings College of the Law, one of the country’s top law schools and an affiliate of the University of California system, now has a top-notch and highly needed new parking structure located in the heart of San Francisco. The need to meet the school’s supply and demand of affordable student and community parking options in a high growth area drove the decision to replace a surface lot with a seven-level, 393-spaces structure. Ten thousand square feet of ground level retail space also provides the school with a chance to recoup more costs and potential of new profit centers.
The building’s seventh level is stepped back at mid block on the Golden Gate Avenue elevation to respect the height and scale of the residential buildings across the street and the surrounding neighborhood.
