Sony Electronics Parking Structure

San Diego, CA       Commercial / Corporate
The Sony Electronics Parking Structure located at the company’s office campus in San Diego, CA is a dynamic addition to the complex, and accommodates staff of the newly built adjacent Sony Office Building. The structure consists of six levels and includes close to 1400 parking spaces.

A 12,200 SF, state-of-the-art fitness center and a 16,600 SF activity deck featuring basketball courts are included on the roof level of the parking structure for employee use. This mixed-use element adds a unique and fun amenity to the structure’s uses. A curvilinear concrete bridge provides direct access from the fourth level of the structure into the office building. With the development currently anticipating a LEED Silver certification, environmental and energy awareness are apparent throughout the design. As architect of record for the parking structure, International Parking Design (IPD) utilized green building practices including incorporation of a bio-swale storm water treatment system, photovoltaic panels on the roof level, bicycle storage, and assigned spaces for vanpools and low emission and energy efficient vehicles.
