This project is a new 360-stall parking structure on the existing, very tight, almost urban campus of a major health care organization in Palo Alto, California. The building is a five-level poured-in-place concrete structure built over an existing two-level underground parking garage.

A primary design goal for this building was to complement the architecture of the existing campus without mimicking its “Mediterranean” style. Extensive campus landscaping on the ground is echoed in concrete planters which form the exposed edges of the upper parking decks.

An additional design element is the beautiful stone cladding on the major shear wall which serves as a visual anchor for the building and the public space it faces.
