The new state-of-the-art Stanford University Redwood City Campus is located a few miles away from the main university campus in Palo Alto, CA. The Redwood City campus includes four office buildings, a parking structure, a fitness center, park, child care center, central utility plant, and data center. The parking facility serves over 2,000 administrative staff and includes 1,041 spaces and 52 motorcycle stalls.

Three elevator/stair cores provide pedestrians with the shortest accessible route to their campus destination. All elevations have a highly developed façade treatment consisting of vertical metal panels and a GFRC panel system. A cascading stair projecting from the structure connects all above-grade levels, and is a primary design feature on the west facade facing the courtyard toward the fitness center. The garage also features a car-counting system which notifies users of available spots per level. Provisions were made for a future rooftop photovoltaic array that will supply power to the campus and shade for parking stalls. Working with ZGF Architects as Executive Architect, IPD provided design assistance and parking consultant services on the project.
